Minister IT inaugurates new TRG facility

TRG inaugurated its new purpose built, state-of-the-art facility for its contact center and back-office BPO operations to service both domestic and international customers. The premises, situated in DHA Phase 1, Korangi Road, Karachi will house 800 seats with an expansion capacity of up to 1,000 seats in total.

Mr.Raza Haroon, Minister of Information Technology, Government of Sindh, was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony where he highlighted the importance of developing Pakistan into a globally competitive outsourcing destination, and the technology industry’s role as an employer of the youth. The Minister appreciated TRG’s efforts as a pioneer in Pakistan’s BPO sector and its role in training and employing qualified professionals in Karachi.

Elaborating on the endeavors of IT Department towards promotion of the IT Industry in the province of Sindh, he emphasized the need for public-private partnership in the IT-enabled services sector. Mr.Raza Haroon announced all possible support to the private sector in this regard. He informed the audience of the upcoming IT City, which would be one of the country’s mega projects. He visualized the future where at least one member of each family in Sindh would be computer literate.
