trg tech sponsorship of IEEE-Week 2010

trg tech sponsored the IEEE’s annual tech week held at the campuses of LUMS and FAST in Lahore between 5-10 February, 2010. The objective of IEEE Week was to bring together the best student engineers and computer scientists for a week of coding workshops, networking sessions, seminars, panel discussions, social events, competitions and more. trg tech was also the lead sponsor of the ‘Networking Competition’. Student turnout was very high, with close to 500 people dropping by over two days to ask questions about trg tech and to inquire about opportunities with the company.

As part of tech’s branding and recruitment initiatives, a stall was set up from which our representatives were able to hand out company flyers, mind games, job postings and project descriptions, as well as discuss full-time work and other opportunities with the students. A lucky draw was also held which created a lot of hype around the mind games, during which two iPods were given out as prizes. Faisal Mehmood, senior manager of product development and Saad Mohammad from recruitment and branding, represented trg tech at the event along with other LUMS and FAST alumni who are now part of the tech family.

As part of trg tech’s commitment towards establishing ties with the academia and research institutions, the event provided a great opportunity to interact with students studying in a variety of tech fields and witness their innovative minds at work.
